The Fool is ready to entertain. Before her first move inside the wooden floorboard, she feels the strange approach of the edges as the audience waits, like a seal on the edge of the board. As she begins to bow to one, she moon at the other.
The Fool is arising from the carnivalesque echo and it invites you an encounter. The performance considers the dialogic nature of the body and storytelling in a world where emotions have turned into emojis and the movement served to you is in a small object. In the work, Saari uses movement phrases and rhythms typical of flamenco dance. The limited performance space functions as a metaphor between the imagined and the real world and as an element which it encloses. But who? A character, an object, a fellow being, a like?
