Dropdrop / Ropiropi

”A pearl button turns into a thousand drops over time, spreads into its surroundings and is absolutely everything.” In the work, I reflect on permeability, support, the ability of a drop to be either a solid drop or to merge into a huge mass. The work is inspired by light and tears. Dropdrop is dedicated to a friend.
In collaboration with Lasipaja Sinisiipi, Tampere-based artist Milla-Maija Saari created the installation Dropdrop in the glass booth of Finlayson Art Area, which was created from recycled materials, such as Iittala waste glass.
